Big changes afoot for Thatcham Post Office

As part of Post Office plans to modernise the network and extend the opening hours for customers, Thatcham Post Office in The Broadway, will have five serving positions – four screened positions and a post office serving point provided for use at the retail counter.
The branch will be closed for refurbishment from Saturday, October 19 from 1pm and will re-open on Thursday, October 24.
During this time, the nearest offices will be in Cheap Street, Newbury, and Northfield Road, Thatcham.
Southern regional network manager Will Russell said: “We understand how important having a post office is to residents in this area of Thatcham and we are confident that the new branch will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.
“The modernisation is part of a major investment programme to convert the Post Office network to new-style branches. This investment, the largest in the history of the Post Office, makes a commitment to no more branch closure programmes.”
After the refurbishment, the office will be open from 6am until 11pm on Monday to Friday and it will also open on Sundays.
