Family Hallowe’en party goes down a treat at McCann’s Coffee Shop in Newbury’s Kennet Shopping centre
A Newbury business hosted its family Hallowe’en party in The Kennet Shopping centre on Saturday.
More than 70 people visited McCann’s Coffee Shop – including mayor of Newbury Andy Moore – for a relaxing afternoon of Hallowe’en-themed dress up, face painting by Amy Collins and free DJ lessons, courtesy of Woolton Hill-based DJ Hypester.
“It went really, really well. All the parents and children had a really good time,” said shop founder and TikTok star Max McCann, who opened the store in May.
“It was pretty much packed in there all day.”
The event’s raffle raised more than £100 for Loose Ends, a drop-in centre serving homeless and vulnerable in Newbury.
The event was planned over a month in partnership with other local businesses.
And Mr McCann said similar initiatives are being planned.
“We get all of our meat for the shop from Cook & Butcher in Thatcham.
“We’re looking at donating a lot of turkeys and other meats in partnership with them over the Christmas period.”
More details will follow soon.
