Biggest and the best -Newbury Carnival wows the crowds

Thousands flock to amazing spectacle

WOW. Newbury came alive today, with thousands thronging the streets for the biggest, best carnival parade ever.

Pirates on stilts, the Reading Scottish Pipe Band playing the stirring Scotland The Brave and John Rankin School’s Jolly Roger were all highlights.

A special shout out goes to Newbury’s Royal British Legion Club for their amazing float.....and where did they find that Arthur Lowe lookalike to portray Cpt Mainwaring?

Don’t tell them, Pike!

And the amazing spectacle of the Rampage Mas Band, with their thumping bass and gravity-defying costumes brought a touch of Notting Hill to the town.

The judging is now underway, but the fun continues.
