Bikers set off from Newbury on memorial run

West Berkshire motorcycle group set off today (Saturday) for Fred Hill Memorial Run
BIKERS have organised a local ride for today (Saturday) to honour the memory of legendary campaigner Fred Hill.
Mr Hill died in prison aged 74 on February 10, 1984 while fighting against what he saw as bureaucratic interference with his choice to ride a motorcycle without wearing a crash helmet.
The West Berkshire branch of the Motorcycle Action Group (WeBeMag) is holding the Fred Hill Memorial Run today and it the run has three meeting points along its route from Newbury into Oxford's Martyrs Memorial, departing at 11.15am from The Starting Gate pub, Newbury, midday at Chieveley Services and 1pm at Oxford Services.
