Bill’s looks to autumn Newbury opening

The restaurant owners are seeking permission for a change of use for 16 to 18 Market Place, currently home to Carter Jonas estate agents.
David Allen (Lib Dem, Victoria) said: “It adds to the vibrancy of the area, it complements the rest of the market square, I have no objections.”
A relocation of some Carter Jonas staff and services to offices in Oxford has meant that the large building is surplus to requirements.
The estate agents will remain on the second floor for administration purposes and is seeking permission for a unit in Northbrook Street for sales and lettings and other customer-based services.
A decision is expected from West Berkshire Council by April 8 and, subject to approval, Bill’s officials said that the company planned to have the restaurant open by early autumn.
