Each household's first collection day after December 27 will be the only day that extra rubbish sacks will be collected.

Unless adverse weather affects bin rounds, collections should return to normal from Monday, January 2.

There will be a two-week break for garden waste collections over the festive period as well. Collections will stop after Friday, December 23 and will resume on Monday, January 9.

Residents will be able to put their real Christmas trees out for collection with their garden waste from this day. If they are taller than 6ft they must be chopped in half and all decorations must be removed.
