Biography reveals new Middleton information
Clarence House's website reveals that Kate Middleton and her family lived in Jordan for two-and-a-half years
BUCKLEBURY's most famous bride-to-be, Kate Middleton, lived in Jordan as a child, Clarence House's recently-launched website dedicated to the Royal Wedding has revealed today (Monday).
Ahead of her marriage to Prince William on April 29, Clarence House has published an official biography of Miss Middleton, disclosing that for two-and-a-half years she lived in Amman with her family from May 1984 before they returned to their West Berkshire home in Bucklebury in September 1986, where her parents have remained ever since.
The biography reveals that Miss Middleton, who was born to Michael and Carole Middleton at the Royal Berkshire Hospital on January 9, 1982, had spent time in the West Asian kingdom whilst her father worked there for a period.
It also states that Miss Middleton attended a nursery school in Amman from the age of three, and when she returned to West Berkshire in 1986 she started at St Andrew's School in Pangbourne, where she remained until July 1995.
She then went on to Marlborough College in Wiltshire, where she studied chemistry, biology and art at A-level and also competed in a variety of sport on behalf of the school, and completed her Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award while at Marlborough.
Leaving Marlborough College in July 2000, Miss Middleton then undertook a gap year in which she studied at the British Institute in Florence, undertook a Raleigh International Programme in Chile and crewed on Round the World Challenge boats in the Solent.
In 2002, she enrolled at the University of St Andrews, Fife, where she met Prince William and graduated in 2005 with a 2:1 in History of Art.
Since completing her degree, the future princess has worked for her family's own business, the Party Pieces website, which is run from Childs Court Farm in Ashampstead Common.
And alongside her work for the family business, she has also worked in London as a part-time buyer for the clothing company Jigsaw Junior, while in 2008, Miss Middleton launched First Birthdays, a junior brand to Party Pieces.
Within her role in the family business, Miss Middleton has been involved with catalogue design and production, marketing and photography.
Outside of work, the biography lists recreational sports among her hobbies, including such activities as hill walking, tennis, swimming, sailing, while it also lists the arts such as photography and painting.
