Blaze at Thatcham industrial unit




Three fire engines called to scene

FIREFIGHTERS tackled a blaze in an empty Thatcham industrial unit yesterday evening (Monday).

Three pumps, including two from Newbury and one from Tadley were called at 9.45pm to a locked industrial unit in London Road, near the Texaco petrol station.

After a forced entry, firefighters discovered a small fire, extinguished by two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus, using a hosereel.

Firefighters also cleared the property f smoke using high pressure ventilation fans.

The cause was put down to electrical machinery.

Firefighters left the scene at 11.15pm
