Bonfires at the ready across north Hampshire

Public displays in Tadley, Kingsclere, Silchester and East End

BONFIRES are taking shape ready to be lit at charity fundraising fireworks parties around North Hampshire.

Charity fundraisers Loddon Valley Lions have pulled out all the stops to organise a firework extravaganza on Saturday night (Nov 7) at Barlows Park, Silchester Road, Tadley, with fireworks set to music and special effects lighting.

A best-dressed guy competition offers free entry to any children who takes along a guy and there will be prizes for the best entries.

Also available will be tasty food treats and a bar, organised by Tadley Calleva FC.

Two displays are planned – one for children at 6.30pm and the main display at 7.30pm.

Gates open at 5pm. Pedestrian access is at either end of car park, and cars can park on the Sunday market site.

All cars must be removed by 10pm.

For tickets and more information visit www.loddonvalleylions.org. All profits will go to local charities.

In Kingsclere, a public firework and bonfire display will be held in aid of Kingsclere Primary School at the Fieldgate Centre in Fox’s Lane on Saturday evening.

Gates open at 5.30pm, the bonfire will be lit at 6pm and the display will begin at 6.30pm.

Refreshments include a barbecue, with vegetarian option, and bar.

Tickets are available from Swan Street Stores or the school.

Silchester Association’s ever-popular annual bonfire, in aid of the association’s funds, will take place at Silchester House.

There will be a pumpkin competition with judging at 6.30pm.

Fireworks start at 7.30pm, and a barbecue and drinks also on offer.
