Dog of the Week: The latest dogs looking for their forever homes from Newbury Dogs Trust
Dogs Trust Newbury has a number of dogs at its Hamstead Marshall base who need a new home.
And every week we have been shining a spotlight on one of them to try to help spread the word.
Nationwide, the charity currently has 688 dogs that are looking for a family to join.
You can find out more about adopting a dog by visiting the charity’s website.
Today we have Russ to introduce you to.
He is a “bouncy two-year-old Saluki who brightens everyone's day”.
The Newbury centre said he enjoys zooming around and a game of tuggy with his toys.
“Russ is still a young dog, who needs to continue his training, but if food is involved he is more than willing to engage,” they added.
“He can be a bit bouncy at times and forgets his size but he loves a cuddle and affection from people.”
Ideally a home with a secure, private garden is needed and Russ will need to be kept on a lead in public as the centre has noticed he has a ‘chase drive’.
His play style can be quite intense with other dogs, so he will need to be an only dog or live with another well-matched, tolerant dog.
“With some training and patience, Russ would make a lovely addition to someone’s family,” the trust added.
