Boxford Masques to perform at Welford Park

The play, penned by national acclaimed, Great Shefford author Geraldine McCaughrean, will be performed at Welford Park between July 25 to 29.
The plot centres around young Charlotte Peak, who is bored after a busy life in London and abroad and longs for a child.
Instead she turned her restless and creative mind to putting on a play using her staff and gardeners and some of her preposterous house guests.
Inevitable, stresses and strains between the players become laughingly and touchingly evident as rehearsals progress.
Set in front of a magnificent Queen Ann house, the play is performed by a talented community cast of all ages and features music and songs throughout.
The audience is invited to bring a picnic and picnic chairs to watch the play.
Established in 1908 by the real Charlotte Peake, the Boxford Masques have gone from strength to strength since their revival in 2000
This year’s production will be the first at Welford Park, courtesy of the Puxley family.
Evening performances are at 7.30pm, with Saturday performances at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.
Tickets cost between £6 and £11 and children under seven are admitted free.
They are available from the Watermill Theatre box office, telephone 01635 46044 or online at www.watermill.org.uk or branches of the Newbury Building Society.
