Police were called to the scene near the BP garage on London Road at 8pm after the boy, who was on a bicycle, had been involved in the incident with a blue Iveco lorry.
He was taken by ambulance to Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital where he was treated for cuts to his head.
Police spokesman, Adam Fisher, said that his injuries were not thought to be life threatening.
The road was sealed off from the Robin Hood Roundabout to Hambridge Road with the westbound lane being re-opened at 9.40pm and the eastbound lane being re-opened at 9.52pm.
Member of staff at the BP garage, in London Road, Lisa Richardson, said: "It was quite worrying until the policeman had told us what had happened.
