Bradfield College considers selling land

Part of the land, which is in an area of outstanding natural beauty, could be developed for residential housing

BRADFIELD College is considering selling part of its lands to be developed for residential housing.

The site, known as Woolaway Bungalows, is on Ashampsted Road, Bradfield, in an area of outstanding natural beauty and currently contains five bungalows which, under the plans to be considered will be turned into 10 houses with three or four bedrooms each.

An open consultation event is being held by the prospective developers, Hill Residential, today (Thursday) between 3pm and 8pm at the college's old gym hall.

A spokeswoman for the developers, Sarah Barnham, said: “We want to hear what people have to say. So far, nothing is set in stone, as is expected at the start of a consultation process.”

She said that the company hoped to submit planning application by the end of the month.
