A BRADFIELD nursery is celebrating after being rated “outstanding” in all aspects of a recent Ofsted inspection.
The Village Montessori Nursery School in Bradfield Southend was inspected on March 24 and the independently owned nursery, which opened in 1992, was ranked as outstanding in the four main categories as well as 14 sub-categories.
The report read: “Children are offered an excellent range of experiences which capture their imagination and support their learning highly effectively.
“Staff are highly motivated and committed to using reflective practice and effective self-evalutation to drive their continuous improvement.
“High quality resources, effective staff deployment and the key-person system ensure that children are well supervised and supported at all times.”
In the same week, an assessor from Montessori Education (UK) visited the nursery and granted re-accreditation in recognition of authentic Montessori practice.
That report read: “The internal environment is maintained to a high standard and the materials are attractively displayed and are in excellent condition.
“The outside environment is a truly remarkable space.
“Staff roles are clearly defined, they are aware of their colleagues and there is a feeling of unity amongst the staff.
“Without exception every member of staff brings expertise which together ensures that every child in the school experiences a true Montessori education.”
Headteacher at the nursery, Jackie Maclean, said: “This is an exceptional Ofsted of which the Nursery School is extremely proud.
“Good Nursery Education provides the foundations for future learning through enjoyable, appropriate and relevant activities.
“This report salutes the achievements of The Village Montessori Nursery School.”
