The Corn Exchange in Newbury suffers ‘disheartening’ break-in

The Corn Exchange in Newbury’s Market Place was broken into last week, writes Bethany Sirianni.

A number of pieces of equipment used day-to-day by members of the team were stolen.

In a statement on Facebook, the Corn Exchange said: “This won’t impact on our ability to continue to present our shows and other events, but as a registered charity, this incident is especially disheartening and will unfortunately have financial implications.

“We are incredibly grateful to our community for the support we know we will receive off the back of this incident, and we remain committed to providing high-quality cultural and creative experiences.”
