Breast cancer cash boost from AWE cakes and treats

Staff at the Atomic Weapons Establishment baked up a storm in aid of a recent Breast Cancer Awareness month.
For a small donation, staff were able to grab a freshly-baked cake or biscuit, to have with their tea or coffee break.
The organiser, Caroline Mills, said that she was delighted with the fantastic support received again this year for the Breakthrough Bake Off.
“The research carried out by the Breakthrough Breast Cancer Charity is so important in helping to fight this dreadful disease affecting both men and woman,” she said.
“It is vital that we continue to hold events like this as often as possible and I am very grateful to all those
who gave their support.”
AWE community committee secretary Michele Maidmentsaid: “AWE is committed to supporting local and national charities with donations, sponsorship and practical help.
“We are proud of our staff who continue to support the important work the charities undertake.”
