Brides share your money-saving wedding tips
CALLING all brides! Newburytoday wants you to share your top money-saving wedding ideas so we can help other couples afford the big day they’ve always dreamed of.
Your top tips will appear in the next wedding feature published in the Newbury Weekly News.
We asked brides for their help on our newburytoday Facebook page yesterday afternoon and we’ve already been inundated with great ideas.
These include:
Claire Williams: “
Do and make as much as possible yourself, ie cake, invites, thank yous, order of services, makeup and hair, favours, to name a few. We did and saved loads and so nice to look around on the day knowing you made/did that. So personal. Also, borrowed our friends jag for our wedding car so that didn’t cost anything. Bridesmaid dresses were prom dresses. You just have to be savvy!”
Beth Willis: “
“
Consider fork buffets instead of set menus and bacon rolls instead of finger buffets – have your cake as dessert to save a whole course!
Chose dates carefully – off peak dates and days of the week can be a great bargaining tool with venues and suppliers, the sooner the wedding the better the bargain you can hope for!
And then, somewhat cheekily:
Elaine Broadhurst: “
Marry someone rich!”
So please keep your ideas coming by leaving a comment here or on our newburytoday Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/432781493477720/photos/a.442955045793698.1073741830.432781493477720/748837945205405/?type=1&theater
