Brimpton Primary school's high visibility
Safety jackets provided by AWE
AWE has helped Brimpton Primary School pupils keep safe while picking Mothering Sunday spring flowers.
Dozens of high visibility jackets that were donated to the school by AWE’s community committee have helped the pupils cross a busy road more safely.
AWE school liaison representative, Nicola Russell said: “The school is situated on a dangerous road with no school patrol.
“The children frequently walk to St Peter’s church to attend services.
“In addition to this they visit the local vicinity on foot as part of their science and nature studies.”
“One of our school governors, who lives in Brimpton, kindly lets the children pick daffodils from her garden as gifts for Mothering Sunday.
“The jackets were worn during the outing, enabling the children to remain visible on a busy road and on Wasing Lane where there is no pathway.”
AWE, with sites in Aldermastoin and Burghfield, manufactures and maintains the country’s nuclear deterrent, Trident.
