BT broadband customers hit by outage
BT broadband customers across West Berkshire suffer problems following power failure at major exchange today (Monday)
BT has blamed a power outage at a major exchange for problems affecting customers nationwide today (Monday).
BT broadband customers in West Berkshire are among the homes and businesses right across the country affected by the hitch.
A spokeswoman for BT, Emma Littlejohn, said the firm was working hard to solve the problem and hoped to have it fixed later today.
“We can confirm that, as a result of a power failure at one of our major exchanges, some customers may currently be experiencing loss of broadband service," she said.
"Our engineers are on-site and the majority of customers' service has already been restored. We are working to restore service to remaining customers as soon as possible this afternoon.
"Should any customers continue to experience difficulty in accessing their broadband service, they are advised to turn their hub or modem off and on again.”
