Spokesman for BT, Ian Read, said an overhead cable was bought down by a tree branch, in Burghclere, reported to BT on October 28.
"Engineers are currently planning to renew the cable as soon as possible. We are investigating as to whether a road closure is required. Those customers affected will have to contact their individual communications supplier as regards compensation," said Ian Read, a spokesman for BT, adding:
"We apologise to those people who are affected by the loss of service."
