Burghclere pupils receive Scouts highest accolade
Chief Scouts Gold Award for Clere school pupils
THREE pupils at a Burghclere secondary school have achieved the Scouts’ highest award.
Year 8 pupils Hannah Willis, Alex Burgess and Natasha Ellis, who attend The Clere School in Earlstone Common, have all been recently awarded the Chief Scout’s Gold Award.
To achieve the award, Hannah, Alex and Natasha completed nine multi-part challenges, including adventurous activities such as dragon boating, and planning and executing a journey.
They also undertook a global view on Scouting where they made contact with Scouts in Uganda, and they also undertook community activities, and health and fitness challenges.
All three belong to the 10th Andover group, based in Hurstbourne Tarrant.
Deputy headteacher and Year 8 progress leader, Zayne Essop, said: “What an amazing accomplishment.
“We like to share our students’ success stories outside school – and especially this kind of award – well done Hannah, Alex and Natasha.”
