Burghfield Road bridge closed from today (Tuesday)

Diversions will be in place on the southern route of the Reading Buses Vitality service when the bridge closes today (Tuesday).
Passengers who catch the bus between Burghfield Golf Club and the railway bridge should walk to the nearest alternative stop at Amners Farm Road.
Customers who normally use Dwyer Road or any stop along Bath Road should catch the jet black or yellow 26 buses instead.
The company said that the diversions will not affect peak time travel, but will be in place between 9.30am and 4pm until the bridge reopens on August 31.
The bridge is closed to allow West Berkshire council to replace old traffic lights on the bridge.
Chief executive officer for Reading Buses, James Freeman, said: "This is essential work and we are grateful that West Berkshire Council is undertaking this during the school holidays and after the Reading Festival so as to minimise the traffic disruption”
