Burglar targets village and nearly runs over dog walker as he flees the scene




A suspected burglar nearly caused a hit and run incident in Inkpen last week and police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Thames Valley Police said a man was seen as he trespassed on a property around 12.30pm on Friday (July 12).

He is described as being of larger build, and around 6ft. He was wearing a black balaclava, a blue puffer coat, dark coloured trousers and light coloured trainers. He was carrying a black backpack with horizontal light/reflective stripes on the back.

After being challenged by the owner of the house, he fled the scene in a dark-coloured Vauxhall estate car.

The same vehicle was later scene to almost hit a pedestrian walking their dog in the village.

Investigating officer PC Calum Murray said: “We are appealing for witnesses following this incident of attempted robbery.
