Burglars target Newbury, Bucklebury, Thatcham, Yattendon, Compton and Bradfield
BMW, laptop, jewellery, lawnmowers and other items stolen in speight of rural burglaries in the past week
BURGLARS have targeted properties in an area that includes Yattendon, Thatcham, Bucklebury, Compton and Bradfield in the last week.
Between 5pm on April 17 and 5pm on April 19, a property in Manor Crescent, Compton, was burgled. Car keys and a laptop were stolen before a BMW was taken from the driveway.
A laptop and jewellery were among the items stolen during a burglary in Goring.
Between 9.10am and 5.45pm on Wednesday, April 16 a property in Sloane Close had its front door forced open.
A laptop, digital camera, hard drive and jewellery were taken.
In Burdens Heath, Bucklebury, between 7pm on Monday and 7am on Tuesday an electric gate was forced open in an attempt to break into the garage.
A van had been parked right up to the garage door, however, and prevented the break-in.
Between Monday night and Tuesday morning in Water Street, Hampstead Norreys, someone forced a garage door open, searched the building but stole nothing.
Between midnight and 5am on Tuesday on Ashampstead Road, Bradfield, someone levered off two panels on a barn door used for storage but again nothing was stolen.
Between 10.30am last Thursday and 3.30pm on Saturday in Essex Street, Wash Common, someone broke into a padlocked garage by cutting through the padlock and searched the premises, but stole nothing.
In Westfield Crescent, Thatcham, between 3pm last Wednesday and 6.30pm last Thursday, someone stole power tools from a shed.
In Church Lane, Yattendon, between 2pm last Friday and 9.30am on Saturday morning someone broke into the cricket club by forcing the window and then caused damage by spray-painting the windows, walls and floor.
