Burglars raid McColls in Lambourn





RAIDERS have struck at a village store twice in two nights.

The burglars targeted McColls convenience store in Lambourn High Street on Monday night, November 27, according to other shopkeepers.

They returned on Tuesday night, November 28 and smashed their way in.

Police taped off the entrance to the store and forensic investigators were on the scene by 10am today, Wednesday.

Earlier this week newburytoday.co.uk reported how police have launched a witness appeal and urged members of the public to contact them after West Berkshire was hit by its worst burglary crimewave in 12 years.

There have been more than 20 burglaries within the district since the start of September, as well as several other break-ins across North Hampshire and the rest of Berkshire.

Crime manager for West Berkshire DCI Emily Evans stated that police believe adult males are committing the offences in small groups.
