Businesses race money for charity
Local businesses will join guests, including BBC newsreader Bill Turnbull, yachtsman Sir Chay Blyth and actress Lorraine Chase, to enjoy the racing as well as a three-course-lunch and raffle.
West Berkshire Mencap has suffered from local government budget cuts of more than £64,000 in the last two years and, as a result, the charity is working harder than ever to fundraise.
CEO of West Berkshire Mencap, Leila Ferguson, said: “The more businesses buy tickets and come along on the day, the more money we can raise.
“We provide activities that we don’t want our community to ever be without.
"So, we need to keep raising awareness and fundraising”
