Burys Bank Road closed today for roadworks, between Newbury and Thatcham
Due to a breakdown of machinery a road between Newbury and Thatcham will be closed again today (Thursday).
Burys Bank Road, will be shut from 9.30am until 3.30pm.
It was initially due to shut on Tuesday, but a machine breakdown meant the roadworks have had to be rescheduled.
The closure is in place from the junction with Greenham Road down to the junction with Crookham Hill.
It is to allow Volker Highways to carry out permanent carriageway repairs on behalf of West Berkshire Council.
A diversion route will be in place and will be signed on site.
Motorists will need to go down Pinchington Lane, the A339, along Thornford Road, Crookham Common Road and Crookham Hill, a route of 8km.
Another Newbury road will also be closed for a few hours tomorrow (Friday).
The A339/Kings Road Roundabout will be closed southbound from 8pm.
The closure will be at its junction with Kings Road and is expected to be in place until 11.30pm.
The diversion route for southbound traffic is expected to be via Kings Road, into Hectors Way and then - via the Hectors Way/Superstore access roundabout - back into Kings Road and onto the A339 via the A339 southbound slip road.
The closure is to enable emergency works to replace a broken manhole cover.
Residential access will be maintained throughout and the diversion will be signed on site.
