Buy-a-brick for Purley classrooms
The school is seeking to become a primary school and has been granted planning permission to build two new classrooms but to do this they must raise £250,000 for the project.
Headteacher, Mrs Catherine Nisbet, said: “To be able to achieve our dream, we must raise half the money to fund this new build and our brand new ‘buy a brick’ scheme is part of our strategy to raise the money needed for the project.”
The scheme will allow donators to have their name engraved and hand-painted on a brick to decorate the new buildings and the school hopes that it will kick-start a campaign to reach out to pupils past and present, as well as local businesses, to raise funds for the project.
“This is a chance to have their name or dedication permanently decorating a wall in school for generations to come,” Mrs Nisbet said.
Reading West MP and school patron, Alok Sharma, will witness a cheerleading display and class singing to mark the Fair’s launch at 10am.
