Calcot IKEA crèche reopens after pandemic

IKEA in Calcot has reopened its crèche service, Småland, for the first time since the pandemic.

The free service for children aged three- to 10-years-old closed in March 2020 due to coronavirus.

Parents can again use the service, for 45 minutes, when visiting the store on Pincents Lane.

In Calcot, the service reopened in November, 2022.

Småland will be open from 10am to 6pm, Monday to Saturday, and 10am to 5pm on Sundays.

IKEA Reading market manager Kim Chin-Sung said: “At IKEA, we believe in the power of play as a tool for children to explore the world around them, inspire curiosity and form meaningful relationships.

“We are delighted to be re-opening the doors to our free Småland service once again and working with our long-term partners at My Ohana to provide their expert childcare.

“Småland is a place where children can spark their creativity and imagination, by immersing themselves in endless play and fun with our fantastic range of toys.

“We look forward to welcoming parents and children to our stores and provide them with the opportunity to delve into the full experience of IKEA, with the peace of mind that their children are in a safe and playful environment.”
