A life-sized model of one of the world’s few jet and rocket powered cars – the Bloodhound SSC, will be on display at a barracks near you, with experts on hand to talk all things engineering.
The Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers and IMechE Thameswey Region will host the event on Friday July 10 at Hazerbrouck Barracks at Arborfield.
The day starts at 2pm with activities available for schools across the area, followed by a networking session from 5pm and the Bloodhound presentation to take place at 6pm.
The Bloodhound is designed to go at 1,000 mph and with a body length of 13.4m and a weight of 7.5 tonnes can produce more than 135,000 horsepower, or more than six times the power of all of the F1 cars on a starting grid put together.
Booking is essential for all parts of the day, for whichever part you wish to attend, and bookings and further information can be accessed via this website: https://nearyou.imeche.org/near-you/UK/Thameswey/Reading-Area/event-detail?id=10676
