Campaign group to hold vigil outside AWE

Christian CND is a specialist section of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament.Christian CND provides a focus for Christians who want to witness on the basis of their faith against nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction, while also positively campaigning for peace.
The group has held vigils outside the atomic weapons establishment’s Tadley Gate over Christmas for a number of years, as a peaceful protest against nuclear weapons.
CND member Caroline Gilbert said: “Advent is when we prepare for the birth of Christ, we examine ourselves and our society to see if we are living in accordance with god's will for us, in justice and mercy.
“To spend between £25bn and £100bn on a weapons of hugely greater destructive power than that dropped on Hiroshima, while cutting services to our own poor, cannot be that.
“Anyone that would like to join our vigil will be very welcome.”
The group will hold a vigil outside AWE on Wednesday between 1pm and 2pm.
