Can you help out Theale Carnival?

Community event back for second year

VOLUNTEERS are needed to help out at this year’s Theale Carnival.

Returning for a second year to the North Street Playing Fields, on July 9, the not-for-profit event offers Theale residents a chance to come together and raise money for local groups and charities.

Fairground rides, community games, independent traders and displays from Urban Stylez Dance Crews, Broadway Dance Academy and Reading Tae Kwon Do are among the attractions. The line-up also includes a dog show, craft and produce competitions, a grand raffle and the carnival parade, featuring an Olympic theme this year.

Theale Village Community Association, which is now preparing for this year’s event, is asking people to spare a few hours before the big day.

The group needs help with the event planning and promotion, together with hunting out raffle prizes and lending a hand on the day.

Local businesses are also encouraged to get involved in a variety of ways, from donating goods and services to stage the event, providing raffle prizes or by taking advantage of the advertising and sponsorship opportunities on offer.

The association is holding a meeting at 8pm on Monday, April 25, at John Cumber Hall, Theale.
