Tadley cancer support group goes potty at the stables

A creative afternoon was enjoyed at The Pottery Stable in Tadley by members of cancer charity The Pink Place Xtra’s support group.

The group is for ladies with stage four or incurable cancer, and the charity arranges different monthly treats for the group.

This gives them the opportunity to enjoy a special experience together.

Lesley Hutchins, owner of The Pottery Stable, closed her premises to the public for the afternoon to allow the ladies, who are extremely vulnerable due to their cancer, time to relax, chat, laugh and paint some ceramic together.

Christine Griffiths, fundraising and events manager at the Pink Place, said: “Despite living with all the challenges of stage four diagnosis or incurable cancer, our Xtra’s Group inspire and support each other through friendship and a shared experience of being with others who truly understand.

“Whilst this group has access to all the other free services that our charity offers to anyone affected by cancer, we like to arrange additional free monthly treats and we are always looking for different ideas for a morning or afternoon to treat them.
