Reading Magistrates' Court: Calcot cannabis grower caught with sword




POLICE who raided the home of a suspect found cannabis plants and a Samurai sword.

In the dock at Reading Magistrates' Court on Thursday, February 2, was Simon Williams.

The 37-year-old, of David Smith Court, Calcot, admitted cultivating three cannabis plants, a controlled drug of Class B, at his home on Thursday, January 19.

He further pleaded guilty to possessing a Samurai sword in his bedroom on the same occasion.

Mr Williams, who was legally represented by Simon Hammudi, was fined a total of £160.

In addition, he was ordered to pay £85 costs, plus a statutory victim services surcharge of £64.

Finally, he was ordered to forfeit both the drugs and the sword in order for them to be destroyed.
