Caped crusaders raise £3,000 for local bereavement charity

The pair of ultra marathon runners completed 393 miles in six separate events from February to May to raise funds for the charity.
Mr Stout (Batman) and Mr Ali (Robin) completed all the races in costume and in the Reading Half Marathon carried a homemade 8ft long cardboard Batmobile along the whole route while still finishing in two hours and 17 minutes.
In the Thames Path 100 in March, the men ran non-stop for 23 hours and 30 minutes from Richmond to Oxford in conditions so gruelling that the race was abandoned – but after Batman and Robin had completed the course.
Their most gruelling event was the Offa's Dyke three day 177-mile run, which involved overnight stops and injuries to both men.
The also completed the 50 mile non-stop Thames Trot along the Thames River Path and the Silverstone Half Marathon.
Last Tuesday they presented their cheque to the chairman and administrator of West Berkshire Cruse, Jon Crossley and Samantha Cave.
