West Berkshire Cruisers car club efforts sees four-figure sum raised for Macmillan Cancer Support

WEST Berkshire Cruisers car club has raised £2,392.17 for Macmillan Cancer Support by holding a charity event in Newbury.

The event, which was held at Charmaine’s Hair and Beauty Salon in Hambridge Road, featured sponsored head shaves, as well as male leg waxings, promo girl auctions, a raffle, tombola and name the teddy and cake stalls.

The Macmillan Cosworth – a Ford RS Cosworth which was bought through fundraising money – was also in attendance.

The car is now emblazoned with the Macmillan logos and used to raise awareness of cancer and how to raise money for Macmillan.

The club has raised £6,000 in just over a year for various local and national charities.

West Berkshire Cruisers is a modified car club set up for people in Newbury, Thatcham and surrounding areas.
