Car drove wrong way on A34 near Newbury




Police are appealing for witnesses after a car was seen driving the wrong way on the A34.

At around 1.10am on Sunday morning, a Ford Fiesta was driving the wrong way on the A34 southbound between the junction for the A4, Hungerford and Chieveley Services.

No one was injured in the dangerous driving incident and resulting collision.

A 36-year-old man from Camberley, Surrey, was arrested on suspicion of driving when alcohol level is above limit, dangerous driving and driving without insurance.

As of yesterday afternoon, he remained in police custody.

Investigating officer PC Mark Exley said: “I am appealing to anybody else who may have witnessed this collision or who may have dash-cam footage or any other information which could assist our investigation to please come forward.
