Car fire in Newbury

Firefighters at Newbury have been called to an incident at the Robin Hood roundabout where a car has caught fire

A CAR has caught fire at the Robin Hood roundabout in Newbury this afternoon (Friday).

Firefighters from Newbury were called to the incident at the Shaw Road/A339 junction shortly after 2pm, after receiving reports of silver Vauxhall Corsa on fire.

One firefighter used breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire, which has caused some congestion for traffic in the area.

The slip road to the B4009 was closed but has now re-opened.
