Car inferno in Upper Bucklebury woodland




Firefighters battle to extinguish blaze

A CAR inferno in Upper Bucklebury woodland was battled by Newbury firefighters yesterday (Monday) evening.

One pump from Newbury Fire Station was called at 8.53pm to Carbins Wood, in Broad Lane, where a car was found well alight.

Firefighters extinguished the fire using breathing apparatus and and two hosereels.

The cause of the blaze was not recorded by the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service (RBFRS), with an update awaited from Thames Valley Police on this.

Firefighters left the scene at 9.29pm.
