Car involved in A34 Speen central reservation collision

.
Crew manager of Green Watch at Newbury Fire Station, Neil Polding, said two pumps from Newbury and a third from Didcot, were called at 3.15pm to the A34 northbound, between the junctions of the A343 Andover Road and A4, Speen, after a BMW was involved in a collision with the central reservation, which the car’s bumper became embedded in.
No-one was hurt and no other vehicles were involved.
The driver had got out of the car when firefighters arrived.
Firefighters made the vehicle safe before Highways Agencies staff towed the vehicle away from the barrier, with a 4 x 4.
One lane was initially closed northbound for a short period and the road was then closed in both directions for about five minutes whilst the car was being towed.
Firefighters left the scene after 20 minutes.
