The site was occupied by Knowles-Wilkins Engineering Limited until April, which ran a car service and repair workshop.

If accepted, the proposed expansion would create a further seven staff roles, bringing the total number of full-time employees to 16.

Twenty-three car parking spaces, four bikes and one disabled space are also included within the plans.

No highway objections have been raised, but provision for an electric vehicle charging point is required.

The applicant has entered into a 15 year lease of the premises.

West Berkshire Council is expected to decide on the proposal by Thursday, October 24.
