Car torched in Hampstead Norreys suspected arson




Burnt out car in village hall car park

A car was torched in a suspected arson at Hampstead Norreys village hall car park during the early hours of this morning (Mon).

One fire engine from Newbury Fire Station was called at 12am to the car park of Hampstead Norreys village hall, where a Volkswagon Passat was well alight.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hosereel to extinguish the fire.

No-one was hurt.

Firefighters left the scene after an hour.

The Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service (RBFRS) recorded the incident as a suspected arson.

Police were also at the scene.
