Caravan destroyed in Crookham Common blaze




Suspected arson recorded by fire service

A caravan was destroyed in a suspected arson in the Crookham Common area during the early hours of this morning (Fri).

Two fire engines were called from Newbury Fire Station at 12.30am, to a layby in Bury's Bank Road, where an unoccupied caravan was well alight.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze with a hosereeel, before departing the scene after half an hour.

The caravan was destroyed in the blaze.

The incident was recorded as a suspected arson by the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service (RBFRS).
