Bupa Court Care Home fun day put a smile on faces in Thatcham
There were smiles all round at Bupa Court Care Home in Thatcham earlier this month.
The residents were joined by friends, family and staff for a day of music, dancing and fun.
The event was organised by the staff who planned activities, made costumes, dressed up and put on a show.
The residents were treated to a saxophone performance from musician Lin Taylor.
A belly dancer also stole some of the spotlight, putting on a great show for everyone, getting them in the mood for dancing.
The deputy mayor was also in attendance.
Acting manager Aby Terry said she was proud of her team for their efforts and the smiles that they brought to the faces of their resident friends.
She also commented on how the day was a bid to not only provide some fun and entertainment for them but to show people outside of the home how the team work.
“It was so fun,” she said.
“Our residents were socialising and connecting with people.
“It was a lovely afternoon.”
She added: “They all have dementia and it was nice to see their smiles.
“I went home feeling so proud. Just proud and happy of what we accomplished.
“Everyone was smiling and happy.
“It was a team effort.”
