'Careless driving' claim following A34 crash




Court summons after accident near Donnington

A MOTORIST is to be summonsed for careless driving following an accident on the A34 near Donnington on Saturday.

Two cars were involved, and one male in his 20s was cut free from one of the vehicles by firefighters and taken by road ambulance to the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading with back injuries.

The Hampshire and Isle Of Wight air ambulance and two pumps from Newbury fire station were called to the incident.

Several other people were treated for minor injuries by paramedics from the South Central Ambulance Service at the scene.

Police revealed today (Wednesday) that the driver of a red VW Golf involved will be summonsed to court in due course for careless driving.
