Carols in a winter wonderland
Pupils at a Newbury school were transported to a magical winter wonderland for a festive carol service.
The Winchcombe School choir – which only started at the start of the term – performed to parents and classmates at the start of the last day of term.
They sang a range of traditional and new songs beneath a snow arch as part of their end of term celebrations.
The choir have already performed to residents at Winchcombe Place Care Home and they wanted to put on a special show for their school friends for the last day of term.
Matt Percy, headteacher, said that one of the school values is kindness and that the snow machines were kindly provided by Parkway Shopping centre, who had heard about the performance and offered their services.
Tash Grove and Amelia Stringer, who have been leading the choir, added: “We wanted to give our school community a wonderfully magical end to term.
“It rarely snows in December but we were so pleased to help arrange for 'snow' to fall on the last day with help from Parkway."
