Thames Valley Police called to incident at Chieveley services on M4 after cars damaged

One person has been arrested and several cars damaged after an incident at Chieveley services today (Saturday).

Thames Valley Police said officers attended an incident of affray and assault at the Moto services on the M4/A34 junction at 3.15pm.

Today was one of the busiest days on the roads as people get away for the Christmas break.

On X (formerly known as Twitter) the force said: “Officers attended swiftly and safely resolved the incident, with one arrest being made.

“Fortunately, no one was injured but three cars were damaged.”

It said there was no ongoing risk to the public, but urged any witnesses to send video to the police not to post it on social media.

The force added: “We understand this incident may have been alarming for those who witnessed it but there is no ongoing risk to the public.

“Anyone with concerns should speak to a uniformed officer as we remain at the services as part of our investigation.

“Please don’t share videos or images of the incident on social media; instead, send them to us via our website.”

Anyone with information is asked to call 101, make a report online quoting 43230573780, or contact the charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
