Cash boost for Baydon Parish Council
The parish council has received a £10,000 windfall from the Big Lottery Fund
BAYDON Parish Council has received a £10,000 windfall from the lottery fund to help pay for community projects.
The money will be used to construct a play area for local children on the village field, an amenity which until now has been lacking.
The grant forms part of the £440,000 which has been allotted to organisations in the South West from the Big Lottery Fund's Awards.
Baydon has received the maximum amount available to organisations under the scheme.
Mark Cotton, Big Lottery Fund's Head of South West region, said: “What a great start to the New Year for these groups.
“I would encourage any other groups and charities in the region that are looking for funding to apply to our Awards for All programme to make their own community projects a reality.”
