Firefighter Kevin Glancy, of Blue Watch at Dee Road Fire Station, said one pump was called at 11am to a house in Sherwood Rise, where a small black cat was stuck on a house roof.
“The cat had been up there for three days - maybe it was sunbathing,” said Mr Glancy.
Firefighters put a ladder up to the house roof and a firefighter wearing a safety harness then persuaded the cat to jump down to ground level.
“It jumped onto a pitched roof and ran down there - it took a bit of encouragement” he added.
The cat was unhurt and firefighters left the scene after half an hour.
