The Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service (RBFRS) was alerted to the animals, on land close to Horse Guards Way, Thatcham, by Thames Valley Police and the RSPCA shortly after 1pm.
A heavy rescue unit from Dee Road, Reading, and one pump from Newbury initially attended, and animal rescue units and officers from Berkshire and Hampshire attended shortly afterwards.
The farmer was also on scene by 2.30pm, and the fire service left soon after.
In total, 10 cattle were moved to safety.
